Feathered hat, 1940s-1950s

Black feathered curvette hat. This brimless hat (a type of calot hat) was worn on the crown of the head and pinned into place. Hair was likely styled low on the back of the head or curled around the cap. They were often worn when the owner didn’t want to ruin freshly styled hair.
