The 1890s was a great period of change. Young women started working, cycling and playing sports. There was an increase in ‘menswear’ style in womens clothing. Outfits were worn as seperate elements like skirts and tops, not just dresses (which were often matching two-pieces). Waistcoats were designed to be worn under a jacket or simply on its own.
